The Parish Community of St. Bridget is a Catholic community on the north side of Minneapolis striving to create and maintain a welcoming environment and to offer opportunities for worship, faith formation, outreach and the promotion of justice in our parish and the wider community.

The folks who care for the liturgical environment at the St. Austin Campus sponsor a donut sale on the last Sunday of the month. Proceeds from the sale help to defray the cost of plants, flowers, and other things used during the year. The first sale will be on the weekend of January 28-29. Homemade donuts will be available after both weekend Masses and are reasonably priced at 4 for $1.00 – 6 for $1.50 – Donut Holes at 75 cents per basket.

This solemnity will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1st at 8:00 AM. Following the Mass, there will be a time of fellowship in the Gathering Area of the Church. Our special guest will be Rev. T. Michael Rock, pastor of Robbinsdale United Church of Christ. Pastor Rock will guide us through the process of making a St. Bridget’s Cross. This is a cross made of reeds and is traditionally woven on her feast and hung over the doors of homes and barns to ask Bridget’s protection of family and farm animals.

Friday, February 3rd is the Feast of St. Blase, whose intercession we seek against ailments of the throat. The traditional blessing of throats will take place within the 8:00 AM Mass on that day.

We presently have two organizations that seek to bring together the women of the parish community for social and community outreach: The St. Bridget Altar & Rosary Society and the St. Austin Council of Catholic Women. In an effort to bring these two groups together, we invite the women of the parish to attend the following two events. In addition to discussing ways to unite these two groups, it will also give the ladies an opportunity to get to know one another and hear about their histories and activities.

Baskets are placed at the entrances of both St. Austin and St. Bridget for the collection of baby shower items for the North Side Life Care Center. Please donate new items only. Clothing and diapers in sizes new born through toddler and items such as baby wipes, bath wash, lotion, shampoo, oil, baby towels, wash cloths, etc. and formula are greatly needed and appreciated.
The SACCW Meeting and Baby Shower for the North Side Life Care Center will be Monday, February 6, 2012 in Brennen Hall at 7:00 PM, Rosary at 6:45 PM. Ladies from both campuses are welcome and encouraged to attend. Our special guest will be Father Anthony, TOR. Beverages and dessert after meeting.
Thank you. Linda Nesenson, President of SACCW.

The Altar & Rosary Society will meet on Wednesday, February 1st, at 6:30 PM in the Saint Francis Room at the Saint Bridget Campus. All ladies of our parish community are invited to attend.

With the new Mass schedule, some parishioners who are accustomed to walking to Mass may need a ride from one campus to another. If you are a parishioner with a van or have room in your car for one or more people, consider offering a ride to those who may need one. Call the Parish Office 612-529-7779 to let us know if you need a ride or are able to offer a ride.
In addition to the two small parking lots on the south side of the church, weekend Mass goers may also park in the Noble Academy parking lot. This parking lot can be accessed from Upton Avenue or through the alley between Upton and Thomas Avenues.
