The Parish Community of St. Bridget is a Catholic community on the north side of Minneapolis striving to create and maintain a welcoming environment and to offer opportunities for worship, faith formation, outreach and the promotion of justice in our parish and the wider community.

Now that the Easter Season is over we enter a lengthy stretch of Ordinary Time—weeks that we mark ordinally, that is, by number. We will return to the more usual posture of kneeling during the Eucharistic Prayer and before coming forward to receive Holy Communion.

Instead there will be a special Mass at 7:00 PM on June 13th at the St. Austin Campus to celebrate the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua. More information on the Upcoming Events Page.

SAVE THE DATES for Summer Bible School Monday, August 5th –Friday, August 9th, 9:00-11:30 AM for ages 3 years and including youth who have completed 6th grade. The program will be held at Ascension Catholic Church.

You may stop in or call the Parish Office to schedule Masses for 2014. In order to give everyone an opportunity to have Masses scheduled, you may schedule only three Masses initially. After everyone has had the opportunity to schedule Masses, you may call the Office to request more. The stipend for Masses is $7.00, but a larger stipend is always welcome.

ANYONE who is recuperating from surgery, illness or physically unable to attend Mass should call Sister Gert so she can arrange to have someone bring you communion. Please call or have a family member call the parish office to leave a message. 612-529-7779 Ext. 303
Do you take pictures of our church events? Would you be willing to have them posted on our web site? Then we want your pictures! Leave a message for Anne at the office (612-529-7779) or email them to webadmin@stbridgetnorthside.org

As schedules and seasons change, some folks who have been committed to Eucharistic Adoration for many years find themselves needing to change their scheduled hour or withdraw from adoration on a regular basis. At the present time, we find ourselves in need of several people to cover various times between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you are interested in spending a quiet hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament each Friday, please call Alice Wortman at 612-521-4005 or the Parish Office during regular office hours.

Given the number of funerals our parish community celebrates each year, there are—at any given time—members of the parish who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. Sometimes grief can cause physical, emotional, and spiritual pain and make a person feel isolated and alone. If you would like to learn the skills to walk with people through their grief, we invite you to call Sr. Gert or the Parish Office. We are presently gathering the names of interested individuals and then will set up a time for training.
Volunteers are needed for both the St. Bridget Campus and the St. Austin Campus. When volunteers have come forward, we will schedule a training session. Please call the Parish Office during regular hours to express your interest.

A number of our parishioners enrolled in our Prayer Chain Ministry and they will be communicating with each other as requests for prayers are received in the office. If you have a loved one you would like remembered in prayer please call Jean in the parish office, 612-529-7779. Your loved one will also be listed in the bulletin for 2-3 weeks, they will continue to be remembered in prayer by our Prayer Chain Ministry, even though their names may not be listed in the bulletin.

Some parishioners who are accustomed to walking to Mass may need a ride from one campus to another. If you are a parishioner with a van or have room in your car for one or more people, consider offering a ride to those who may need one. Call the Parish Office 612-529-7779 to let us know if you need a ride or are able to offer a ride.
In addition to the two small parking lots on the south side of the church, weekend Mass goers may also park in the Noble Academy parking lot. This parking lot can be accessed from Upton Avenue or through the alley between Upton and Thomas Avenues.
When parking in the small lot on the south side of St. Austin’s, DO NOT BLOCK the driveway and garage access to the white house closest to the church door. This is a private home and parked cars prevent them from getting in or out of their garage. There is NO PARKING to the left of the handicapped spaces.
