This is a safety net that provides short term or one-time assistance to parishioners and neighbors in need and who might not qualify for other forms of assistance. Sometimes it is to help with rent, a house payment, groceries, a utility bill, medication, or any number of needs that present themselves.
The Outreach Fund is replenished twice a year through special collections on Holy Thursday and Thanksgiving. It is also funded by tithing a portion of the parish’s income and by periodic donations from parishioners and local organizations. Given the condition of our economy, the number of people unemployed and underemployed, and government cutbacks, the demand on such resources becomes greater, but the support needed to make help available does not always keep up with the demand.
If you would like to contribute to the St. Bridget Emergency Outreach Fund you are encouraged to do so by placing a check or cash contribution in the weekly collection, along with your regular parish stewardship. Please make sure it is clearly marked "Emergency Outreach Fund." We would also be happy to accept gift cards for Cub, Rainbow, and local gas sta-tions in $10.00 and $25.00 increments. Thank you for your consideration and for your concern for the poor and needy.

Past campaigns include efforts to curb domestic violence; jobs for people of color on the construction of the Twins Stadium; community development that benefits the residents of the near north side; and various gatherings at the Capitol, County Government Center and City Hall to discuss issues with our elected officials.
