TLCC News

The Transition Committee met last week. The following is a summary of their meeting:

Liturgical Ministries
: Scheduling still has a few wrinkles but things are going well overall. Ultimately we will have one schedule for all ministries.

Altar & Rosary and CCW groups
have met and they are working towards merging.

Communications
: We will continue to provide information regarding parish activities and progress regarding the merger through bulletin inserts.

Buildings
: St. Austin and St. Bridget are now using the same trash removal and pest control services at some savings to the parish community. We have also consolidated snow removal services and boiler maintenance.

The Parish Congress meeting went well. Fr. Anthony is working with the TLCC to surface names for Parish Council membership and has been discussing the appointment of new Trustees. It is our hope to have these administrative positions filled during the Easter Season.

Over 150+ volunteers were served at the Volunteer Appreciation event on Mardi Gras and it was deemed a great success and another example of how we can come together as one community.

13 people attended the Social Justice Committee meeting compared to 3 the previous month.

Altar server training
was well attended by both youth and adults from both campuses and future schedules will be incorporated with other liturgical ministries.

Lenten activities
have been well attended with about 50 people attending "The Smiling Christ" sessions on both campuses and nearly that many signed up for "The Beggar’s Bowl." Attendance at Stations of the Cross at both campuses appears to be lighter than usual.

160-200 people are attending each Mass each weekend. At present, the plan is to switch weekend Masses beginning on Pentecost.

The TLCC is working on giving priority to their tasks and helping to facilitate the merging process.

Volunteer Dinner 2012

The theme was Mardi Gras, the company was wonderful, the evening was chilly and the next day was Ash Wednesday. Can you think of better reasons for great party? Thanks to the Boys Scouts for serving dinner!

Br. John's Jubilee

Br. John's Jubilee was December 13th, but St. Bridget celebrated it on December 11th with Mass, a renewal of vows, and a reception in the school. Two standing ovations indicated St. Bridget loves Br. John and is very happy to celebrate this milestone with him!
